Hello my babbers!
So in this video I show you how to create this highly requested pop of colour makeup look! I decided to create something a bit different from my usual eye looks, and I love these two colours together. Not going to lie, the pink was spontaneous but I love it and I hope you guys do too!

So in this video I also cover a few issues! The first is that I am back at university (woooo), famous last words I know haha! For anyone wondering, I am studying Forensic Psychology with the intent of earning a bachelors of science with honours! So I have a bunch of pre filmed videos but will occasionally be filming new ones. I am hoping to film at least once a week. Now... I have also had a few issues lately that I wish to discuss. It's not something I wanted to discuss on social media because its still raw to me.

For a few years I have been dealing with Anxiety. Although for the first year or so, it was very underlying and I could brush it off and get on with my daily life. However, in the past year its been bothering me a bit more than usual. Lately, I have been dealing with severe panic attacks. When I say severe, I mean 'visiting A&E because I thought I was having a heart attack' severe. Now, usually I am able to understand what triggers panic attacks and subsequently I am able to understand what to do to prevent them from happening. But this time round, these panic attacks spring from no where.

The other morning around 12:30am I woke up and felt an intense pain in my chest. My heart rate was incredibly fast and I could feel the pain spreading from behind my boob (soz about the detail), up to my neck and into my back. I couldn't breath, I was dizzy and I was very incoherent. I could also feel warmth to this pain almost like indigestion. From memory, with my granddad having multiple severe heart attacks, I could remember him describing his symptoms. All of those symptoms felt like what I was having. Now with most of my family having heart issues, I had convinced myself something was very wrong. Now other than the physical distress, I was also battling with my mind. I have a very bad fear of dying/close people dying. The fear Is more intense for dying unnaturally via terrorism, car accident etc, not natural death (aka your time was up when it was meant to be up). Now imagine convincing yourself you are having a heart attack, you're going to die but you are scared of dying??? It makes the situation 100x worse. Anyway, results were fine no issues to suggest I had a heart attack but it did suggest something else, I was having a panic attack but it was to the extent that I was affected physically and mentally.

Because my heart was beating so fast and my muscles were tensing up in my chest (causing the chest pain), I still feel sore In that chest region. I also felt silly going to A&E with my results coming back normal. I felt drained because it strung a whole load of other emotions: embarrassed, overwhelmed and almost like no one believed me, that I was over reacting. But then I thought about it, its nothing to be embarrassed about, nor should I worry what anyone thinks because I know my body better than anyone else in the world does. Something was wrong. This wasn't the first time I have had a panic attack but it sure as hell was the worst. Instead of looking at this situation negatively, its essential you pull positives out of this: a) if it happens again I know what it is b) my heart wasn't affected and it was perfectly 'normal'. and c) I wasn't really in any trouble, I was making myself believe I was.

Now I know this much about panic attacks and more specifically panic disorder:

  • Its classed as recurring and regular panic attacks for no apparent reason
  • It affects more people than you think
  • It may stem from phobias, PTSD and anxiety
  • Your body is overwhelmed with sensations, mainly fear, and anxiety.
  • You may have symptoms such as: Incoherent speech, sweating, pain in the chest or legs, sickness, dizziness, breathlessness.
  • It's very real. It should be taken seriously and just because it cannot be seen, that doesn't mean its not there.
Treatment wise, I am on beta blockers to slow down my heart rate when it happens again. It's scary to write that knowing full well a panic attack will emerge anywhere and everywhere. Im also attending counselling which will help me with my phobia, negative thinking patterns and will help me to effectively provide treatment for myself to steer away from situations where I may be vulnerable and also techniques to calm me down. I am yet to start this so I will keep you updated but its not nice. I feel like I need to combat my intense phobia of death (which will be hard seeing as all species need a fear of death to keep them alive), which will hopefully change my thinking patterns. Hopefully I will be able to look at a plane and think " I can get on that, travel and arrive safely rather than thinking If I get on that it will crash and I will die".

If you have felt like this at all, please chat with me on my social media. I would love to hear from you and maybe share a few self help techniques. If you are battling with it on a daily basis like me, remember you are ok. You are not under any threat, its just your body sending mixed signals. you get stronger after each episode.

hugs and kisses xoxox

Halloween Makeup Tutorial part 2/2 : Chelsea Grin

Halloween Makeup Tutorial part 2/2 : Chelsea Grin

Hey ya'll here Is the final episode of my Halloween looks! I want to create more but I literally have no time on my hands now I am back at university - waaaaah :( ... but I wanted to create something fun and gorey! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did creating it! Of course below will be some money savers for Halloween! Ones I have used in both videos. I haven't mentioned any products because they were very generalizable!

Products that will save you the money

Instead of me writing some stuff about what I used, which I mentioned in the video, im going to note down what will save you money!

♥  Save money on face paint - I used two lipsticks from makeup revolution, a red and a pink. This cost £2 for both of these beauties, which is roughly the same as 1 pot of good paint! These are super saturated and gorgeous colours! +++++ you don't need to buy 2 colours... mix colours together to create your own shade.

♥  Save money on buying fake blood - Fake blood is sooo expensive these days! If you buy the cheaper ones they tend to look tacky and unrealistic. This recipe below will give you the perfect blood for any look!

For the blood: mix together 1 teaspoon of washable red paint (for the colour), 1 teaspoon of honey (for the texture) and add  half a teaspoon of cocoa powder ( to add a dark blood colour but to also thicken the mix up).

♥  Save money on sponges - I used a washing up sponge. It has a soft side to apply the lipstick and a rougher side to stipple on glitter and other colours. cut them into pieces for different uses! You can also cut them into different shapes if you have the patience.

Hello my loves!

So in this video i am showing you how i achieved this gorgeous nail look using nails from the brand NailHUR! They are a brand that offer high quality nails at an affordable price. So you do not need to book an appointment with your salon as you can do this in the comfort of your own home. You can switch up your nail style with the variety of nails available at NAILHUR and even if you like to change them up even more you can even paint over them! This is a much cheaper and easier alternative to a manicure!

So far i have used these nails for around 5 days. They were super easy and quick to apply and they have not budged once. With cheaper nails, you find they fall off or snap easily but these do not! The glue has adhered the nails to my own with such strength, but have still not damaged my nails!

Glam Halloween Makeup tutorial: Mermaid PART 1/2

Hey lovers!

So Halloween is just over a month away and I wanted to get up 2 types of videos. 1 video was going to be a glamorous non scary fancy dress look, which is of course this one, and also a gore look with blood n shiiii.... I stepped out of my comfort zone with these two looks and created them from scratch and its safe to say I am so glad I did. I loved creating both looks and found that actually I can make these things when I put in time and effort. I wanted both of these looks to be affordable!

I wanted  to create something glam, pretty and glittery and I feel like this look incorporated just that. I wanted to stick to the blue, purple and pink basis with glitter. Of course if you recreate this look you can tailor it to your own colours but these were super girly.

Hair

♥  To create the dark blue I used a colour from smiffys and its the hair and body spray in neon blue. This is also UV activated

♥  For the light baby blue I used a colour from FUDGE in the shade called 'turquoise forever'. I also used this shaded to create my kylie jenner inspired hair!

Products that will save you the money

Instead of me writing some stuff about what I used, which I mentioned in the video, im going to note down what will save you money!

♥  Save money on face paint - I used three lipsticks from makeup revolution, a blue and a pink. This cost £2 for both of these beauties, which is roughly the same as 1 pot of good paint! These are super saturated and gorgeous colours! +++++ you don't need to buy 3 colours... mix colours together to create your own shade.

♥  Save money on the stencils - I didn't use stencils for the scales, I just used an old net. You could use fish net tights which will also stay on your head a lot  better than mine did!

♥  Save money on sponges - I used a washing up sponge. It has a soft side to apply the lipstick and a rougher side to stipple on glitter and other colours. cut them into pieces for different uses! You can also cut them into different shapes if you have the patience.

Irresistible Me 8 in 1 Curling Wand | Review & Demo*

Hello my gorgeous people!! So I was lucky enough to be sent this wonderful kit from the brand 'irresistible me'. In the video I trial out the wand using the second largest barrel to create soft everyday effortless waves! The wonderful part to this kit focuses not only on creating one look with one wand but two looks! E.g. I used this wand today to create soft slightly wavy hair, yet when you pin the curls it also creates tight, structured curls! Not only this, but you will never need another curling iron again! Unless of course they do one that does it for you ;) but I am just lazy with my hair haha! Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

My August Makeup Wishlist

My August Makeup Wishlist
Wednesday 19 August 2015
Read post
So I have recently been saving some money and not splurging on makeup, fashion etc. (The usual)... firstly, can I get an applaud please ;) ... So I figured that instead of spontaneously splurging on products, I would create a monthly blog post dedicated to a makeup wish list. Here you will find out about the products I have been craving. Even though I may not order these, its still nice to wish eh? As always, I highly recommend using YouTube or Google to see reviews and swatches of products before you buy to hopefully make up your mind.

Beauty Bay Homepage

Beauty Bay is one of my favourite shops to buy from. They stock brands ranging from Anastasia Beverly Hills to Zoeva. So lets take a look at what I've been wanting to get my hands on.

OCC Perpetually Pink Test Tube Stained Gloss Set 3x4.2ml
£15.00
OCC Lip Tar Matte in shade FEMME 9ml
£13.00

For the simple reason that I have never tried an OCC product before and buying three glosses with a free lip brush doesn't seem to bad eh? I love pink colours and I have heard so much about these its rather tempting to checkout with these guys.
I also love matte lips especially with dewy skin its the perfect combination. Again with the pink colours, I wanted to try the colour 'femme', which is a pretty baby doll pink colour with peachy and coral undertones. Again, I have heard amazing things about the matte tars.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Perpetually Pink Test Tube Stained Gloss Set
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Matte

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette
£15.50

This one definitely does not need any explaining. If you are a makeup junkie like myself, you will be hypnotised by the warm truffle like colours in this palette. With a combination of shimmers and matte shades, its the perfect palette for summer and the cooler months. At only £15.50 for 10 shadows, I may have to follow through to the checkout with this one. After seeing this palette on YouTube, it warms my heart strings, and certainly is hypnotic. ZOEVA Cocoa Blend Palette
St Tropez Skin Illuminator in Gold 50ml
£10.50  £8.93

Now of course with St Tropez being one of the leading tanning brands, creating an illuminator to go with your tanned goddess skin shouldn't be too hard huh? This is mainly the reason why I want to try this (not the fact its on sale I swear :| ) I would love to try this as the swatches seem fantastic.

Stila eyes are the window shadow palette - ' Mind '
£30.00

I have seen this on shaanxo's beauty channel and was in love with this matte palette. The shades seem to be perfect transition shades. Although the price is slightly off putting, £30 for 12 eye shadows is not too bad considering the quality from Stila.

How it Arrives

One of the most beautiful things about this brand is that they offer gift bags and boxes. Everything is neatly packaged in the packaging box and arrived untouched. As I received the 14K gold clover charm, it also arrived with the individual gift box. This is the perfect gift for any friend or family member. As there is also a gift bag, you don't need to worry about packing the gift up. The larger gift box is the perfect fit for the bracelet.

Review of the charms
I decided to use silver, gold and rose gold for my bracelet. However you are able to stick to one colour scheme. I really wanted to show you different parts from the different colour ranges to get an idea of what you can expect.

Firstly, im going to start with the ice blue crystal charm. This is certainly an eye catcher due to the beautiful colour. This will mix with any other bead so I picked this one because blue is my favourite colour. Made from Murano glass, it sure does feel like luxury.

The next bead on the bracelet is one of the most beautiful charms I have seen. Made with 14K gold, it brings out the beauty in every charm. Surrounded by a sea of blue diamante, the colours compliment each other really well. The weight to this charm is perfect as its not too heavy, but is heavy enough to notice the quality.

The next is the beautiful rose gold ribbon charm. This certainly will catch the light and catch peoples attention. Each metal component is wrapped around each other to create that perfect ribbon effect. The crystal diamante really sets off the look.

The next charm is the Hamsa hand pendant. This charm has received so much attention from friends and family because of its effective simplicity. It's mainly silver but has a gold centre. This sits very well on the hand and mixes well with so many other charms. This one is definitely a show stopper.

The last charm is the rose gold gesture of love charm. The detail on this charm is so perfected it really does show. It's very delicate and the rose gold material fits so perfectly as its so delicate and soft looking. Even the spacing between each finger is crafted well.

As you can see, you can create a perfect charm bracelet for anyone as you can pick unique personalised charms to suit you or the person you are buying for.

Backstage Lashes | NEW BRAND ALERT!

Backstage Lashes | NEW BRAND ALERT!
Sunday 2 August 2015
Read post

Hello everyone
I feel like im on a blogging roll today... perfect sunday! So today I am going to be talking about a brand of lashes that I have been using for the past week. If you watch me on YouTube, you will know I am a big fan of VIVI collection lashes on ebay! But recently I was sent some lashes from this brand and I think my eyelashes have changed forever! These are only £6.00 and Backstage beauty are based in the UK. All lashes come with adhesive.
So heres a bit about them:

Backstage Beauty has been created by glamour makeup artist Tashan Cian. The Backstage Eyelash range was created with the vision of creating a small range of high quality lashes to complete a variety of makeup looks. After years of using other brands of lashes on photoshoots and for clients we noticed that most of the eyelashes that where available on the market where out-dated and had overly extensive ranges which where both confusing and mind boggling to customers.

After getting feedback from clients and other makeup artists we decided to design a range of high quality lashes but name them after “party destinations” after all that’s when we like to look our best. In our range we have lashes like the Chelsea lash which are more soft and wispy to suit more of a natural look and the vegas lash which are full and impactful for our ultra glam lash wearers out there. We have tried to cater to all different eye shapes and styles of makeup to create a small but simple range of wearable lashes.

| LINKS TO PRODUCTS & WEBSITES |

Hollywood Lashes
These are the lashes I have been wearing the most. The lashes are very whispy and feather light. The lashes are thicker towards the lash band, but about half way down the lashes, they are thinner to give you that flirty lash. These give you full lash impact without being too heavy and dramatic. These are one of my favourites because I love my lashes long and whispy. These lashes will make your eyes look super large and big!
Below you can see a silver/blue look I created using these lashes.

Chelsea Lashes
I haven't worn these lashes as much as the others just because I love having a slightly thicker lash, in the tear duct area. For the days when I feel like having a sultry, feline cat eyeliner, these are the lashes I go to. Due to them being shorter at the front of the lash and longer at the end, they make the eyes look more sultry and sexy. The lashes are still long enough to see over the cat eyeliner. These are very much like the Hollywood lashes, but are more natural looking.

Soho Lashes
These are by far my favourite lashes. They are super unique and will give you a beautiful finish to the eye. Towards to the end of the lashes, they are much shorter blending perfectly. The lashes are much longer and tapered in the middle of the lash. This will make your eyes look more round and bigger. This is perfect for a 'natural' makeup look, that will still give you full lash impact, but will also look subtle.

| Quick Snippet into the lashes |
  • Only £6.00. Around the same price mark as Eyelure, Revlon etc.
  • UK based brand.
  • The glue really works which is impressive as most lashes either come with no glue or the glue does nothing.
  • The lash band is not visible on the eye and it does not damage and/or dig into the lash. They are very comfortable.
  • They are reusable as long as you take care and clean them every so often.
I love these lashes and they will always be in my lash drawer. I am very excited to see where this brand goes and I know they are going to be big.

Hey Everyone!
So we see a lot of monthly beauty boxes and fashion boxes but never lingerie, which can also be as interesting and appealing. I was recently contacted by a company called Sexybox. They are a subscription & Pay as you go Company that provide you with gorgeous pieces of lingerie every month. As the box clearly states, surprise yourself every month.

To get an idea of the types of pieces you may receive, click here for the previous outfits

To visit the website click here

So how does it work?
1) Their experts pick the surprise pieces for each month and you need to tell them your size. The sizing ranges from XS - XXXL & Plus sizes.
2) Set up either a subscription / Pay as your go service.
3) Thousands of other customers are all excited to receive their goodies on the 6th of every month.
4) Exchanges and/or Returns are FREE!

Review:

So I received the products through the post from the USA. I was a little bit worried about the whole customs scenario as I live in the UK but this package was here within 3 days. It was super fast and flew through customs! As you can imagine, I was very excited to open up the package because its a total surprise which is a great niche in the market.

Wrapped up inside were two small packages folded up in red tissue paper. This was July's month edition and its safe to say my interest is completely sparked. I received a purple baby doll dress and a G string, and a black lace playsuit.

The black playsuit was just utterly beautiful. Complete with frills around the chest and leg area, with a slit in the middle of the torso with lace. This is a great piece for those who aren't too comfortable with the 'extra sexy' lingerie. It feels like a normal playsuit, but has that extra sexiness. It fits perfect and feels like a dream.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see something colourful in the subscription box. I usually don't wear purple but this is most certainly an exception. Its almost like a bubblegum pink/purple colour. This is probably the most beautiful out of the pieces. Covered in lace and silk bows its the perfect night time companion. It has two cross over silk straps that can be worn at the back, or the front like i have done.

So you're interested? Well great because I have discount codes! You can either pay monthly, quarterly or pay as you go. For more information on subscriptions click here

For the MONTHLY discount you can get $15 Discount with the code: 'SexyShannon40'

For the Quarterly discount you can get $20 Discount for the 3 month paid package with the code: 'Sexy3Box'

I'm so glad I can share these wonderful discount codes with you. I think this company is wonderful. I love the fact you can receive a surprise package each month containing two high quality, gorgeous pieces of lingerie to keep. If you want to see real customers wearing real products from SexyBox...
