Now, im not really a nail type of gyal... but that may have just changed. I go through different phases on things im obsessed with and I stumbled across these two beauties! Theyre the AVON nailwear pro+ nail polishes. Buy HERE

The colour's I purchases were Pink Crème (LEFT) and Well Being (RIGHT). Pink crème is a beautiful baby pink colour that really draws attention to your nails. The Well being polish is absolutely stunning! Its a nude colour with a very slight peach undertone with a faint gold glitter. this will be perfect for summer! I purchased these for £3.00 each! They have very high pigmentation and dry within an instant which is an important factor when I buy nail polish. I thought these colours are perfect for spring as pastels are in season!

I have also decided to include some of my favourite rings! These are from a company called ROAM. BUY HERE

This brand is usually found in NEW LOOK or in Debenhams. The pieces I have were bought In winter from the winter range but similar items may be re-stocked! I love how each of the colours reflect a colour  that im wearing on my nails. a MUST HAVE for anyone - is to match your nails with something you are wearing. It compliments your image massively!

Spring Health Kick!

Spring Health Kick!
Sunday 23 March 2014
Read post
Hi you beauties,
so I thought I would do something a bit different, something other than beauty and fashion related...
I am on a health kick and have been now for around a week and a half. I LOVE healthy food, it just tastes so much better than fast food - and the after feeling knowing you have eaten something delicious AND healthy is a lovely feeling! So here is what I have been eating. (these meals are spread out for the week, I usually eat only one main source of protein i.e. fish or chicken in the day)

Lunch: Chicken breast in BBQ sauce, salad, red cabbage and olives.
I LOVE chicken! I am not a big meat eater, chicken is probably the only thing I will eat. I found by having the chicken it filled me up, however the salad maintained that balance by making it a lighter dish. My biggest issue with food Is my portion sizes being too big. With this plate is allows for me to use in the middle ring as a guide to how much I should have. I had a pint of water and peppermint tea for afterwards!

Dinner: Salmon fillet in a honey, garlic and lime sauce (using raw ingredients, nothing pre-packed), Mediterranean vegetables finished with a slice of lime.
ok... I lied... this is probably my favourite meal of all time... I love fish especially salmon. This dish is definitely filling, as well as being healthy. I used a slight touch of olive oil to cook the salmon, as well as adding some honey, chopped garlic and the juice of half a lime. I roasted the med vegetables in a slight touch of olive oil too... If you don't like salmon, or fish in general, try an alternative such as chicken or even Quorn fillets.

Breakfast: handful of special K flakes, low fat natural Greek yoghurt, Raspberries, Blueberries and a breakfast health mix full of dried fruit and nuts. BUY HERE
Knowing I have made this for breakfast is the most rewarding feeling. What is there not to like about this for breakfast? I was only able to eat half of this as it was super filling. The special k flakes are very low in fat and with the yoghurt on top it acts as a substitute for milk. (of course use milk, I just prefer yoghurt as its more filling). The fruit provides you with loads of nutrients to kick start your day and the dried breakfast mix again gives you a great balance of foods to eat. (TIP: place in a container like I have done here so you can eat some in the day if you get picky!)

So, I hoped you enjoyed these dishes i have put together! I have lost 3 lbs so far on my diet! And it's not a struggle because I LOVE the foods i am eating. Below are some tips on how to get started!

  • You need to be MENTALLY ENGAGED with your diet. Having the positive and motivated mentality to continue with your diet is ESSENTIAL.
  • Being able to say NO to fatty/sugary foods is also ESSENTIAL. you need to discipline yourself to a certain extent to banish all temptation.
  • Of course, you are allowed to eat treats every once in a while! after all - life is too short to stay away from chocolate... or in my case cheese and crackers! (im more of a savoury craver) just make sure they are the correct portion, and you don't go too crazy!
  • Make your diet REALISTIC. If you have reached your goal weight, and feel you don't need to diet anymore, you are more likely to put weight back on if your diet wasn't realistic. Make it realistic so that when you do reach your goal weight, you MAINTAIN your goal weight with foods you like and that are healthy.
  • Eat 6 small meals throughout the day to decrease your hunger, and regulate your body. Knowing you have to wait a few hours for your next meal can be a pain, so have a small meal in between i.e. some yoghurt with fruit, or some nuts.
  • Lastly, DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. The recommended daily amount is around 8 x 200ml of water a day... I achieved this by drinking water if I wanted to snack. it filled me up for longer.

I took inspiration from the Mediterranean diet which you can find more information about HERE

ENJOY THE PROCESS! I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED WITH HOW I AM DOING!

ELF COSMETICS: Long Lasting Lustrous Eye-shadow REVIEW

Hey you guys! - So I have previously taken advantage of ELF's 50% off everything inc sale items + Free delivery (in Feb)... not once... but twice! Elf also held this promotion in early march as a lovely spring welcome... and I may have accidently on purpose placed a third order with ELF. (if you ordered the same time as me, you may have noticed products may have increased).

So I wanted to do a small review on one of the products I had purchased, along with some makeup looks I did with it,  so if you want to find out my thoughts continue reading!

Order/Product Details

  • This product is originally £3.95 however with my promotion I bought it for around £1.98
  • They are available in 7 different shades
  • Net weight of 3g
  • " Soft and fluffy, these vibrant, shimmering Long Lasting Lustrous Eye-shadow colours can be used as eye-shadow or a bold liner. The whipped gel texture is easy to blend and lightweight for lasting comfort and wear. Perfect for highlighting the brow bone and adding extra shimmer for a truly glam look. "
  • no reviews as from 11/03/2014

Packaging

  •  Very cute and compact
  • Classic matte black studio packaging (the best packaging out of all of the products)
  • Every detail/text is clearly displayed
  • Easy to get into
  • The product itself is in a plastic tub with a screw lid
  • It looks incredibly professional
 Product

This product has to be one of my favourite's from ELF COSMETICS simply because it's absolutely genius. I am not a great fan of some powder eye-shadows on the market because even with a decent quality primer, the pigment looks fantastic on the brush and on the eye for about a minute. After that, the pigmentation is lost even with more applications, and it goes down hill from there....

This however! The consistency of the product is rather damp and almost gel like. From the first photo shown you can see how I have tilted the product to show you the product is somewhat solid yet liquid as it doesn't pour out like a standard eye-shadow or pigment would. It also has marks on the product where I have intentionally pressed the product to show you how gel like/damp it is. - The genius in this? You don't have to use a primer, and because the product is slightly damp the pigment picks up so fantastically it stays on all day.

I am consistently let down with brands selling their products to the public as 'long wear all day'. This eye shadow will stay on all day. To test this: I applied this at 9am in the morning and the product was still there (and still pigmented) until 4pm until I removed my makeup.

I bought my eye shadow in the shade of TOAST. This is a very beautiful gold shimmer eye shadow and looks fabulous with any colour! Gold is a very versatile product colour to have in your makeup collection.

 PROS:
  • does exactly what it states on the tin - It has a brilliant lasting power! minimum of 7 hours for me.
  • Extremely pigmented especially when you pack on the colour (only a small amount is needed)
  • Very cute and compact - Travel friendly
  • No primer is required - Effectively a 2 in 1 product.
  • impeccable quality for money - very cheap!
CONS:
  • I wish this product was bigger because I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

Concluding remarks

10/10 product!

This is an essential for your makeup bag. I will be buying every single colour. Self explanatory to how wonderful this product is when the only negative remark is that there should be more product because I love it so much!

My Favorite Drugstore Foundations

My Favorite Drugstore Foundations

Read post

Hey lovelies... So as a 'drugstore special' i am going to be listing my favorite products in different categories, that are from the drugstore!

#1: Foundation

From Left to Right: RIMMEL stay matte, Almay clear complexion makeup, RIMMEL match perfection and Collection 2000 16 hour long wear.

SWATCHES: LEFT TO RIGHT: collection 2000, rimmel match perfection, ALMAY and rimmel stay matte.

Rimmel Stay Matte - £5.99... BUY HERE

Cannot quite comprehend how much i love this foundation. It does exactly what it says: Stays matte, which is a big thing for me considering other products that claim to be matte, are actually the most dewy products i have used. It offers full coverage and gives you a flawless face. The color match is pretty good. It does last quite a while, (longer if you use powder) however i wouldn't use a powder with this foundation as it could look too drying. It offers the right balance of moisture and coverage. It will cover pimples and spots in an instant. Would recommend this for all skin types.

ALMAY clear complexion makeup - Around £6.99... BUY HERE

This foundation could really give the highest end products a run for their money. I use this foundation for when im having a bad skin day i.e. spots, pimples etc. It covers flawlessly and one applied, looks like your skin. offers a medium to high coverage. It's originally used for acne treatment with 0.6% Salicylic acid. The only downfall to this foundation is the lack of colors available, however i have mine in shade 220 neutral and it matches perfect in summer!! (bit too dark for me in the winter) for reference i'm an NC20 in mac. Would recommend for all skin types, especially oily and acne/spot prone skin.

RIMMEL match perfection foundation -£6.99... BUY HERE

I strangely had a love hate relationship with this foundation when i first purchased it. HOWEVER, after months and months of use, i love this foundation. This is a trace-less coverage foundation that gives you a glowing dewy coverage. Powder can be used to achieve a matte look. Coverage is medium and build-able. There. There is a great variety of colors to choose from. It has a lovely pleasant, statement smell as rimmel always has. I personally like the smell however others may not. A primer may be needed. Would recommend for dry/normal skin, however with powder, may suit an oily complexion.

COLLECTION 2000 16 hour lasting perfection foundation - £5.99... BUY HERE

Likewise with the RIMMEL match perfection foundation, i was a little unsure about this foundation. It does give a lovely light to medium coverage but i wouldn't build the coverage up. It's slightly dewy but this gives your skin a very nice hydrated look. It has a pump which is always good! The downside would be that it doesn't offer many shades. I have the shade 2 IVORY and it has some slight pinky undertones to it. i would definitely recommend a primer to give the foundation a longer wear. It does not stay on for 16 hours however but overall i do like this foundation! But its a hit or miss foundation. I purchased mine for around £2.60 because of ex stock, however are £5.99 RRP. Would recommend for normal skin, dry with a primer and oily with powder.
